Starting our day out with a bang and lots of gorgeousness from our lovely bride, Jessica's wedding. Her ivory lace gown was perfectly paired with a champagne color sparkly belt.  This is one fun bridal party that even played around in the water after the reception! The Top 3 Rules for Accessorizing your Wedding Gown

You've found your dream gown after searching high and low!  Now it's time to put the whole ensemble together and purchase your accessories! Where do you even start? Here's a few of our top tips to consider when choosing accessories to wear on your Big Day! Blog C1 1. Consider The Style of Your Gown If you have an intricate lace or detailed back, choosing a thick, 3-layered veil is probably not the best option.  You want to enhance the beauty of your dress, (and yourself) not compete with it.  Choose a veil that has a beaded or lace trim for a simple gown, and pair it with a statement bracelet or earrings.  For a more intricate dress, choose something very understated that doesn't clash with the little details. Blog C3 2. Consider Your Personal Style No bride wants to look "cookie-cutter" on their wedding day, so try to infuse a little of your personal flare into the accessories. For example, if you love to wear a certain color in your everyday life, integrate a little pop of that color in your shoes, belt, or jewelry.  Try a sweater or bolero over your gown for a little fun costume change! Or you can always go outside the box with a blush or different hued gown! Nobody ever said you HAD to wear white!  After all, you should feel like a glammed-up better version of your everyday self! Blog C2 3. Don't Overlook the Details We understand- you've got so much excitement revolving around the dress when you're at your bridal appointment! But don't forget to try on accessories at your fitting so that you know exactly what looks perfect with your gown.  Did you try earrings? necklaces? bracelets? veils? headpieces? hair combs? garters? You definitely want to choose things that you not only like on the rack, but that compliment the style, color, and overall look of your gown.  Consider metal colors also.  If you've got beading on your gown, stick with that metal color to keep the flow going smoothly.   Photo Credit: Oncewed.com; Elleandjae.com

Our Bride, Abbie!

We are just blown away by the beauty of our bride, Abbie! She was absolute bridal perfection in her gorgeously detailed lace gown from our private collection at The Bustle! The backless style with the intricacy of the lace pattern is so perfect on this glowing bride who got married just this past weekend! Wedding season is here and we could not be more excited! A huge congratulations to Abbie and her new husband! Here's what Abbie had to say about her experience at The Bustle:   "Hi! I wanted to thank you for such a beautiful dress! We just had our wedding this past weekend. The dress was perfect, and I received so many compliments on the dress. Thank you so much!"   IMG_2808 IMG_2867 IMG_2858 Processed with VSCOcam with m5 preset

Bridesmaids 101

It's no surprise that getting a group of excited, emotional girls to do anything in an organized fashion can be a serious challenge! Here's a few tips to keep things running smoothly from the ring until the moment you say "I Do!" Bridesmaids_movie_poster-1 Who to Choose Brides can often get carried away with the number of ladies they include in their wedding party. Our best tip is to just include the girls who are the closest to you and those that you know will be your bestie forever.  Skip the sorority sister you just want to impress, and the high school drama club pal you haven't hung out with in six months.  It's also a common courtesy and a nice gesture to include any sisters you or your groom may have, after all they're family now! Finally, don't worry about making the number of groomsmen and bridesmaids even- you can have a groomsman walk multiple girls down the aisle and vice versa.   bridesmaids dresses Dress Shopping Drama Choosing one dress that fits all shapes, sizes and styles may seem like an impossible task! Avoid all the drama by helping the girls pick out a few options and letting them vote on the style or color.  If they're still not feeling the same dress, you can always go with mismatched dresses, just make sure there's a unifying theme (style, color, fabric, length, etc.) so they don't all look like they're going to different events! Remember that everyone may have their own budget and style preferences, so have that talk before you head out shopping and you'll avoid the drama that can come with this outing.  Ultimately, you're the bride so the final decision should be yours.   bridesmaid bouquet Aisle Style One of the most important pieces of advice we can give you is to have a rehearsal a day or two before the wedding, including everyone who will be walking down the aisle- especially if you don't have a wedding planner.  Get all the ladies and gents lined up in order how you would like them to stand.  The maid of honor should go last, just before the flower girl if you have one, either alone or paired off with the groomsmen. Don't forget to tell them to hold their bouquet at their bellybutton (not in front of their face!) walk slowly, and most importantly, smile!     Photo Credit: crushable.com, christinechangphoto.com, colincowieweddings.com

Benefits of Trunk Shows at The Bustle!

Trunk shows are a great way for brides to view new gowns and accessories that usually aren't accessible. Types of Trunk Shows: There are two types of trunk shows- gown and accessory.  During a gown trunk show we receive 15-20 gowns we usually don't have in the store. During an accessory trunk show we might receive up to 30 pieces we usually don't carry. The accessories range from veils to belts to hair pieces and even boleros! The Way They Work: During a trunk show a gown designer will send extra gowns from their collection to our store. It is awesome because sometimes we receive older styles that are hard to find and new gowns from their newest collections!
We just had this awesome Badgley Mischka over the weekend and we can't wait to have her back!

We just had this awesome Badgley Mischka over the weekend and we can't wait to have her back!

The same concept applies to accessories. We just revamped our accessories boutique so you can view all of our goodies easily and find something you love! Make sure to check out some Bel Aire accessories at their trunk show May 3rd to May 13th! Their Benefits: Even if you found your gown already here at The Bustle, you can always stop by for accessory trunk shows because we might just receive the headband you've been looking for. Plus, it is always smart to match up the accessories with your gown.  So, if you haven't received it yet, we will have it for you to compare.  The best part? Trunk Show discounts! Some designers offer discounts on their gowns allowing you to finally view the gown you couldn't find AND save money! Check out our News & Events page frequently. We are always updating it with new dates for designer trunk shows. Also, we update our Facebook page daily with dates and pictures of the gowns we will receive. Make an appointment and we will see you soon! :)

How to Prepare for You Gown Appointment!

Ok, so you just got engaged....where do you start?! After picking out your venue, dress shopping is obviously the next step. :) But.. how do you even go about it? Wedding gown shopping is always a new experience because, well, how often do you shop for a wedding gown? Here are the best ways to prep for your gown appointments! 1. Check out some styles online! Get an idea of what kind of look or feel you are going for for your wedding day. Places like The Knot and Pinterest are great resources for fun ideas. And once you find out which boutique you want to visit (see #2) check out the designers they carry as well!

2. Research your area and find a bridal boutique that fits your needs. Do you like personal attention or do you like to shop on your own? Each bridal store offers different perks, so check them out. At The Bustle, we are a small bouqitue, but our gown are carefully hand picked and we give you great personal attention with champagne and cakes! 3. Select a small group to come with you and who's opinions you trust. It is great to have people you love come with you and share such an important moment. Make sure you pick a gown where you feel most beautiful, and not which your sister loves most. ;)

4. Come with an open mind. Your consultant is a professional and they know exactly what look will fit your style and body type within minutes of meeting you. Even if a gown might look bad on the hanger, try it on, you might be surprised! 5. Most important: Have fun! This is the biggest purchase you might ever make (emotionally and financially) so enjoy each second. Be honest, make jokes, play with accessories and feel gorgeous!
