Wedding Gown Silhouettes

Finding the perfect wedding dress begins with finding the right shape for your body. There are five basic gown shapes, including trumpet, mermaid, sheath, a-line, and ball gown. Once you've narrowed down to one silhouette, deciding on a combination of materials and details is easy! At The Bustle, our bridal stylists will help you find the right fit for your wedding day. Click here to make an appointment today!

Trumpet This is a fitted style that begins flaring out just below the hips. It shows off your curves enough while still giving you enough walking space to dance the night away!

Mermaid This style is great for brides who want something a little more dramatic to show off their curves! It's more fitted than a trumpet fit, and begins flaring out at the knee or lower.

Sheath This is slim fitting style perfect for brides who want a sleek and effortless look! It hugs your body head to toe, and is a great silhouette for wanting to elongate your figure.

A-line This is universally flattering on every figure! It's fitted at the bodice to show of the smallest part of your waist, and flares out from there. It looks especially great on brides who want to conceal their fuller hips, or for brides with a sporty figure who want to create the illusion of curves.

Ball Gown  This shape is fitted at the bodice, with a dramatic full skirt. If you love this look, go for it! Where else besides your wedding can you dress like a princess? :)

Dress Timeline

So you've just said yes! Congratulations on your engagement! Now it's time to dive into wedding planning. Shopping for a gown is one of the most exciting parts of planning a wedding. The entire process of gown shopping is about 8 months, so it's never too early to begin the search for the perfect dress. :) We've broken down the timeline so you're prepared to find THE ONE!

Gown Page Photo

Almost all gowns are made to order, so it takes 4-6 months for the dress to come in. If your wedding date falls within that 4-6 month time frame, don't worry! We'll walk you through all your options to see if any rush fees apply. There are different rush fees that will help speed up the production on your dress. The Bustle offers various rush options depending on the designer and the gown you fall in love with.

Remember, alterations are always needed to achieve the perfect fit. Gown sizing is determined by your current measurements. We always recommended to go with the largest measurement because wedding gowns are made to be taken in, or let out if needed. Alterations will begin 6-8 weeks before your wedding.

Let The Bustle help you find your dream dress! Our team of bridal consultants will be there to guide you through the entire process up to the day you say "I do!" Call 858-523-9254 or visit us online at www.thebustledelmar.com to schedule your private appointment. We can't wait to meet you xo

The Wedding Planning Secrets No One Tells you

Brides-to-be!  Don't let the wedding planning blues get you down!  We know that planning the biggest, most important day of your life can be a little daunting (no pressure, right?) but here's how to get your perfect day without all the stress. 75_Bride-Prep The number one secret that nobody tells you about planning your wedding is that it doesn't have to be one hundred percent perfect.  It's a day to celebrate the love between you and the person you've chosen to spend the rest of your life with. With so much pressure put on a bride to have a picture-perfect fairytale wedding, it's easy to see why it can kind of bum you out.  Our best advice is to be flexible! If it rains on your big day or your veil tears before you put it on- just let it roll off your back because if at the end of the day, you end up married you have succeeded! Olivia1 Our next tidbit to save your sanity is that your wedding doesn't need to go according to everyone else's plan.  We know that Mom really wants you to wear her dress because it was so important to her and that your aunties will have a fit if they don't get the traditional dry white cake at the end of the night.  But the important thing to remember is that your day should reflect who you and your fiance are as a couple- so if you want to hire a taco truck in lieu of a standard sit down meal, or have your dog as your flower girl, go right ahead.  Your aunties will understand that it's your day, and they might even have (gasp) fun!  If you want to do a backwards wedding where you party first then have the ceremony at the end of the night, or wear a colored gown and walk down the aisle to rock 'n roll, then You. Go. Girl. b3 Ultimately, what we want all of our amazing brides-to-be to know is that your wedding is a celebration.  Don't let other's opinions of what they think your wedding should be keep you from having a day that is unique to you.  If you're feeling pressured to have an over-the-top wedding to impress people, take a step back and make sure that's what is really important to you.  Your guests will have gone to dozens of weddings that look all the same so why not infuse a little of your personalities into your big day to keep them on their toes and make it a day that will be special to you!

Before and After You say “I Do”

"Love is more than that perfect wedding day, love is all that happens before the big day and the day after that glorious wedding day."

Our  Bustle bride Tracy did an interview on her married life, and it was such a great read!  It talks about the realities of love before and after marriage, and how to keep your spouse on their toes even after one says "I do." :) Her wedding was at Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens in San Clemente and her wedding photos are breathtaking thanks to D. Park Photography. Tracy wore a beautiful fitted lace gown with custom strap additions! The neutral color scheme with splashes of blue and blush complemented the romantic theme at her garden venue with views overlooking the ocean. tracey3 tracy2 tracy1 The article will make you appreciate the little things you and your loved one do for each other even more. We even picked up a few lessons ourselves that made us realize not everything in marriage will be perfect or easy. However, there's always something new you can experience together and grow as a married couple. Who says the honeymoon phase has to end?! We don't. :) tracey4 Click the link below to read what our bride Tracy had to say about the married life! Our Bride, Tanja!

It's such a special treat when we receive wedding photos from our brides! Here's Tanja, another sweet bride of ours that we had to show off. :) She got married at The Grand Del Mar and used one of our favorite florists, Jolie Fleur. Of course we can't forget how beautiful she looked in her Anne Barge gown from The Bustle! Congratulations again to the happy couple, we hope you had an unforgettable day! IMG_3875 IMG_3873 (1)

Our Bride Megan!

Here to bring even more sunshine to our day is our bride Megan! She sent us the cuuuutest photo from her wedding with a special guest! (; Swinging Friar, our very own Padres mascot made an appearance to the happy couple's wedding. So cute! More importantly, our bride Megan looked beautiful in her Stella York ballgown from The Bustle. The sparkly belt and color of her gown are everything, and match Megan's fun personality! Congratulations again to the happy couple, and thank you Megan for letting us be a part of your wedding! 12741973_10153942151631115_6406683143540378452_n (1)
